REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY OF DRY IDEA ANTIPERSPIRANT/DEODORANT

The temperature has been brutal on Long Island, NY with temperatures as high as 100 degrees and high humidity.I never was a fan of roll on antiperspirants but I am always willing to try something new. Most of the roll on deodorants that I have tried left white marks on my clothing and made me feel sticky. So I decided to give Dry Idea Advanced Dry Roll On a try.

My Thoughts: 

My twins went to their Senior Prom on Thursday and it was over 90 degrees on that day. The school had a Red Carpet set up in the main entrance but the school was not air conditioned and it was very hot. They both tried the Dry Idea and were very satisfied with the results. My daughter wore a strapless gown and the product dried clear. She felt very comfortable and dry. My son wore a Tux and at first did not want to try it because he thought he would smell like a "girl" but it was unscented so he gave in and try it. He said that it worked better than the Antiperspirant/Deodorant that he was using now. I also tried it and it kept me dry all day long. The other product that I was using was not as good and I am planning to try all of the scents and types that are offered.

My Thoughts:

This is a wonderful invention but needs some improvement. The silicone top fits easily on a gallon size milk bottle and the seal keeps the beverage fresh. No more spilled milk but my cat is very disappointed now that he cannot clean it up for me. It is not recommended for dispensing carbonated beverages,alcoholic beverages of 40 proof or more,and beverages containing pulp. I found washing it a little tedious since it is not dishwasher safe. I had hit the trigger on accident and I recommend a cover or a trigger lock to prevent this. Otherwise the product works well and is convenient. No more lifting heavy jugs of milk.

Immortality or Worm Food

  Love him or hate him, Ernest Hemingway is hot these days. More than fifty years after his death by self-inflicted gunshot wound, the ever prodigal Papa is once more showing up in films and new books. Most notably in Woody Allen's  Midnight In Paris and presently in HBO's  Hemingway and Gellhorn.

 

It all makes me wonder: what makes one writer immortal and another forgotten almost as soon as his or her body becomes food for the worms?

 

Hemingway was a romantic individual. Handsome, big, outspoken, he was an adventurer, traveler, and a fan of the ladies. He also had a real cool name. One wonders if the author would have become a phenom had his name been Irwin Lipschtiz. But no matter what's in a name, his work was groundbreaking, especially the early stories that came together collectively in the 1924 volume, In Our Time.

 

I think it's possible that good writing might not be enough to make one immortal. Like Norman Mailer (who followed the Hemingway macho, bad boy line pretty closely), or even Elizabeth Gilbert (who has become a dynamic and charismatic speaker aside from a mega-bestseller), it's important that a writer also develop a cult of personality in order to achieve the kind of fame that will last and last.

My Thoughts:

I have read many of Mr. Zandri's novels and I am a great fan of his writing but Permanence was quite different. It was written in the first person view of a young woman in distress and her relationship with her "Doctor." At first I was unsure of the path that the author has taken but I figured it out very quickly. The novel was a quick read and took me on a journey through the mind of a woman who has many psychological problems. Mary's relationship with her "Doctor" was intense but also very creepy and weird. The scene descriptions were fantastic and I found myself immersed in the words and the emotions of the characters. Mr. Zandri has written another GREAT novel in a style very different from his previous novels. So go out and pick up a copy of the novel. You will not be disappointed.
