Wistful Whispers is an irresistible battle of the wills where surrendering to forbidden temptation could cost them everything.
I never promised forever.
A good time? Absolutely.
Heartbreak? Only if they got too attached. My reputation as a quiet playboy precedes me—women talk, and my ‘talents’ follow me wherever I go. But I’ve always been upfront. No commitments. No expectations. No complications.
Marcella Delgado is nothing but complications. Brilliant. Fierce. Eight years older. And the attorney trying to take down my boss in a malpractice case. She should hate me on sight—hell, she does. But that doesn’t stop the heat between us from igniting the moment we meet.
She’s heard the stories about me firsthand, right there in the depositions. She knows exactly what I’m good at, and even though she fights it, I can see the temptation in her eyes.
One night. One line crossed.
Now my future’s unraveling—and she might be the only thing I don’t want to let go.For the first time, I want it all.
And I’ll fight like hell to be the man she can’t leave behind.
INTERVIEW:
Can you tell us when you started writing?
I’ve been writing stories in my head since I was a kid including a rockstar romance when I was 15, but I didn’t sit down and seriously write a book until I was well into my legal career. It started as a creative outlet. Something just for me, and then I fell completely in love with the process. Romance, in particular, felt like the most natural place to pour my heart.
Can you tell me who or what the inspiration for the book was?
Seamus has been tugging at my sleeve since Fearless, when he was the youngest McGloughlin brother. Then in Limitless Encore, he stepped in with calm strength during a medical emergency, and I knew he had a bigger story to tell. As for Marcella, she’s a little bit me and a little bit many of the amazing women I know. Sharp, curvy, successful, and still carrying deep insecurities we don’t often talk about. Putting them together created this charged, beautiful story I couldn’t wait to tell.
Can you tell us how you came up with your title?
Wistful Whispers felt like the perfect way to encapsulate the emotional layers of Seamus and Marcella’s story. There’s longing in it. Passion. Secrets. The quiet moments that speak the loudest. It’s a soft title for a story that hits hard in all the best ways.
Can you tell us a little about your main characters?
Seamus is the youngest of six Irish-American brothers, a neurosurgery resident with a reputation for being both brilliant and… complicated. Marcella is a powerhouse attorney who is eight years older, fiercely competent, and used to keeping her heart locked down. When her case collides with his mentor’s medical misstep, they should be enemies. Instead, a deep, electric connection ignites and neither of them is ready for what follows.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?
Absolutely. I think all writers do at some point. When it hits, I try not to force the words. Instead, I let the characters live in my head a little longer. Sometimes I’ll go for a walk, read something that inspires me, or watch Love Island. The goal is to stay creatively connected, even when I’m not actively writing.
Where is this book set and why did you choose that setting?
Seattle is the backdrop for Wistful Whispers, and I chose it because it’s where I live and work. It’s filled with quiet magic. Rainy streets, cozy coffee shops, waterfront views. It’s where all of my series take place because it’s the perfect home for intense, intimate love stories. Plus, the McGloughlins needed somewhere bold enough to hold their big personalities.
What are your current/future projects?
Next up are the twins! Padraig’s second-chance romance, Forever Flames, will crack open a past he thought he buried. After that comes Hushed Harmony, Liam’s deeply personal story that
explores identity, secrecy, and an unconventional love that challenges everything he thought he knew. Both are emotional, high-stakes, and full of family tension, music, and heart.
How long did it take you to write the book, and how long did it take to get published?
This one came together quickly once I had the story locked in, I wrote Wistful Whispers in just a couple of months. I publish independently, so I’m fortunate to have full control over my timelines. Once it was ready, it was in readers’ hands fast.
Do you have any tips for a young writer just starting out?
Write the story that won’t leave you alone. Don’t chase trends, chase truth. Your voice matters, and no one can tell the story the way you can. Also, finish the book. You can’t revise or publish a blank page. Stay curious, keep reading, and protect your creative spark.
