JUNE IS HOME SAFETY MONTH- ENTER TO WIN $100 WORTH OF SAFETY PRODUCTS

Did you know that June is Home Safety Month? Many people may have a fire extinguisher, smoke alarms and a carbon monoxide alarm but do they check them to see if they work? Twice a year when the time changes, my family checks all of the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and changes the batteries. When we checked the fire extinguisher in the kitchen, it was not fully charged. If we had a fire in the house it would not help us at all.

Thanks to the folks at First Alert, we were able to try out the Tundra Fire Extinguisher Aerosol Spray. In the backyard, we lit paper on a metal trash can lid and the spray was able to put it out quickly. It was very easy to use and the instructions were easy to follow. It was easier to use than a traditional extinguishers and in a tense situation easier is better. I now have two cans of spray and a multi-purpose fire extinguisher in my house.

Tundra Fire Extinguisher Spray-
First Alert AF400 Tundra Fire Extinguisher Aerosol Spray

The First Alert AF400 Tundra Fire Extinguishing Spray helps prevent small fires from spreading. Ideal for household, boat, car, and dorm use, this fast-acting spray safely puts out grease, fabric, wood, and electrical fires. More effective than traditional fire extinguishers for snuffing out small fires, Tundra is also easier to use, store, and clean up.

Besides fires, there are other hidden dangers all around the house. First Alert has many kits to help keep your home safe.

 Lead Test Kit-

This complete test kit can be used to easily check for poisonous lead on any surface including: toys, dishes, paint, dust, mini-blinds, food cans, plumbing, water, and other items. The kit can be used in your house to test up to four separate surfaces for lead content and provides immediate results. Small children have a tendency to put things in their mouths.
They can have serious health problems if the lead level gets too high in the body.

 Radon Gas Test Kit-

First Alert RD1 Radon Gas Test KitRadon gas is radioactive and can seep into your home through loose-fitting pipes, drains,or cracks in the concrete. The EPA estimates that it may cause as many as 20,000 cases of lung cancer deaths each year. Each home should be tested yearly. The test kit is easy to use and is mailed to a lab for testing.

Drinking Water Test Kit-

First Alert WT1 Drinking Water Test KitI live in an area where the tap water is rated excellent but there still may be impurities in the water. The kit tests for bacteria, lead, pesticides, nitrates/nitrites, chlorine, hardness and pH. Everything is included in the kit and gives you immediate results.

Mold Detection Kit-

First Alert MT1 Mold Detection KitMold can be found all over the house and can cause allergies, difficulty breathing and skin rashes. The mold detection kit allows you to test up to 9 locations in your home. Mold is usually found in the basement and bathrooms because of moisture and high humidity.

Thanks to the folks at First Alert and the Lehigh Group I am able to give away the above kits and a handy Cordzilla safety strap.

Crawford-Lehigh CZB4 4-Feet Cordzilla Stretch Rope, Yellow
