REVIEW OF WEN CLEANSING CONDITIONER

Thanks to the folks at Guthy-Renker, I was given the opportunity to try Wen Cleansing Conditioner in Sweet Almond Mint. Wen was developed by celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean, after years of seeing the damage caused by ordinary shampoos on his clients’ hair. Wen which takes a unique approach to cleaning and conditioning hair in a single-step process. It’s made with natural ingredients and avoids damaging detergents usually found in shampoos — so it won’t strip your hair and scalp of their natural oils.

Wen was created with a balance of herbs and natural ingredients to not only cleanse your scalp and hair but to also moisturize, soothe, strengthen and add sheen. Chaz says some of his own clients find Wen a tough sell at first – the idea of giving up shampoo for a one step cleansing conditioner that doesn’t lather – but he finds that even the most reluctant clients become dedicated and loyal fans after trying it – including celebrities like Jennie Garth, Finola Hughes and Melissa Gilbert.

My Thoughts-

First let me tell you about my hair. It is thick, curly, and frizzy. One side of my head was frizzier than the other. I tried many different products and none of them helped. I even had the keratin treatment twice. It made my hair smoother and did help with the fizziness. It was recommended by the salon to use the shampoo that was made by the company and that was quite expensive. I feel that the company changed its formula and it does not work as well.

Along came Wen. I was a bit skeptical with the product because it is so thick. Most of the shampoos that I used, lathered up but Wen does not. The instructions said to apply 18-24 pumps and then comb it through. I followed the instructions and I found it did not clean my thick hair, so I divided it into two steps. I applied a small amount in step one, rinsed it well and then applied more in the second step. Boy did that make the difference. I have been using the product for over a week and my hair feels fantastic. Wen makes different formulations for different hair types and can be purchased at http://new.wenhaircare.com/ and QVC.

My mother tried Wen and she found that it worked for her hair type also. Her hair is thick, has natural waves and is never frizzy. So give it a try. You never know you may find a product to solve your bad hair days.

Disclaimer: I was given a free sample of Wen Cleansing Conditioner for my honest review and I was not compensated for my review.
