REVIEW OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND AND PHILOSOPHY: CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER.

Alice in Wonderland and Philosophy: Curiouser and Curiouser (The Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series)I know most of you have read Alice in Wonderland but do you really know Alice? In the book, Alice in Wonderland and Philosophy: Curiouser and Curiouser (The Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series) the authors delve deeper into the mind of Lewis Carroll. Was he as crazy as he seemed? In the story, he introduces us to strange characters such as a cat with a weird grin that stays after the cat leaves, a blue caterpillar, the Mad Hatter and many other fun characters.

So what is the book about? The book is written by many talented authors who discuss the underlying meanings in the Alice books. I have never taken any formal philosophy classes but I heard the classes can be quite boring and difficult. I found the book easy to read and understand. The chapter that I liked the best was "Reasoning Down the Rabbit Hole: Logical Lessons in Wonderland." In that chapter, the author talks about what logic and assumptions are. He uses Alice's adventures to help explain what Carroll was trying to teach us about logic and life itself. I enjoyed the book and I recommend it to anyone who wants to dig deeper into the mind of Lewis Carroll.

Disclaimer: I was given a free copy of the book by FSB Associates for my honest review. I was not compensated for my review.

  1. I also received a copy and found the book quite interesting. Definitly something to ponder over! I think my favorite discussion was "jam yesterday and jam tomorrow but never jam today" it was a real eye opener don't you think?
